From Burnout to Business: Why Quitting My Job Was the Best Thing I Ever Did
Two years ago, I finally made the call to leave my full-time job — a job that, to be honest, was doing a real number on my mental health. I wasn’t just unhappy; I was burnt out, stuck, and needed out. Fast forward to today, and I’m running a growing marketing agency and juggling multiple projects under Her Umbrella Media. It’s been a wild ride, full of ups and downs, but looking back, it’s the best decision I ever made.
The Power of Storytelling
Storytelling goes beyond just selling a product. It’s about creating an emotional connection that your audience can relate to. Women entrepreneurs often have unique perspectives and experiences, which can be a powerful tool in building trust and relatability. Sharing your story helps humanize your business, making it easier for potential clients and customers to connect with you on a deeper level.
What can we do?
The past year we have witnessed so much…I thought long and hard about about whether or not to do another issue of Her Umbrella Magazine during Covid and eventually, I realised that now, more than ever we need hope.
You are enough.
We search for perfection in others and pine for it, comparing ourselves to them and feeling lesser when we don’t measure up, no matter how unreasonable our expectations are.
It's all about working together!
To me it's all about working together, building businesses, building connections, building dreams and the Corona virus does not change that!
The right time is now!
It was a risk I knew I had to take, or I’d be forever wondering ‘what if?’ As the quote says:
“I refused to be the girl who didn’t pursue her passions because she didn’t have enough belief in herself.”
How to Show Your Support
There's a growing population of women starting businesses, often with less money, time or resources than men. If you want to support your soul sisters out there, now is the time and we have a few simple things you can do that will make a huge impact.
A little reminder!
Everything you do, every step you take should be toward that goal. You are a powerhouse, don't let naysayers or roadblocks get in your way. You are a strong, confident, independent woman with a goal to achieve and you can absolutely do it!
Ways To Market Your Business
Maybe you already have a few people paying for your services. But just because a few bucks are trickling in doesn’t mean your business is really out there in the world.
